Control of information spread

Soviet totalitarian system needed not simple obedient, but actively working to the needs of system „homo sovieticus“. Such person could be formed by ideological indoctrination which is impossible without control of information spread. Control of information is important to ensure society control. Censorship and territory control was used for spread of positive information about soviet system and negative about Western democratic system. It was implemented through censorship of press, literature, science, education, culture and varies contacts with Western countries (post, tourism and so on).
