The letter of the KGB of the USSR draws the attention of the head of the KGB of the Lithuanian SSR to shortcomings in the work of KGB units among former political prisoners and activists of independent Lithuania (persons such as Toliušis, Petkus, Skebėra, and Terleckas are mentioned). The work of agents in this field is viewed as ineffective and lacking information, while the cooperation of central and peripheral units is viewed as insufficient. Recommendations on how to improve the work are also provided.
